Each week follows a phase of the Courageous Living Freedom Framework—designed to bring your nervous system out of freeze and into flow:

Week1: Orientation & Nervous System Setup

Stabilizing the System Before Change

Purpose: 
Before we “do” anything, your nervous system needs safety, context, and structure. This week ensures you are not trying to heal from a place of urgency or self-pressure.  

You’ll learn:  
  • What survival mode actually is (and how it shows up specifically in you) 
  •  Why insight alone hasn’t worked 
  •  How this course is designed to prevent overwhelm  

Tool: 
Personal Survival Mode Map  - You identify your dominant stress patterns, coping strategies, and body signals. 

 Outcome: 
You stop guessing. You understand what’s happening in your body and why.


Week 2:
“I Am Not Crazy”

Gaining Awareness Without Self-Blame 


 Purpose: 

To remove shame and self-doubt so regulation can begin.  


You’ll learn: 

  •  How conditioning trained you to self-abandon 
  •  Why anxiety, overthinking, and exhaustion make sense 
  •  How your nervous system learned to stay on alert 


 Tool: 

You learn to accurately identify when you’re in survival vs regulation.  


Outcome: 

Relief. Self-trust. A noticeable drop in internal pressure.

Week 3:
Facing the Emptiness Inside

Understanding the Cost of Survival Mode 


Purpose: 

To understand why survival mode often leads to numbness, emotional eating, fatigue, or feeling disconnected from yourself. 


 You’ll learn: 

  •  Why survival mode suppresses pleasure, desire, and rest 
  •  How this contributes to hormone imbalance, weight gain, and inflammation 
  •  Why “doing more” makes emptiness worse 


 Tool: 

You relearn how to listen to hunger, fatigue, stress, and emotional signals. 


 Outcome: 

Your body becomes information — not an enemy to manage.

Week 4:
How Others See Me and Respond to Me

Breaking the Self-Erasure Pattern 

Purpose: 
To understand how relational patterns keep your nervous system activated. 

 You’ll learn:  
  • How people-pleasing, over-functioning, and emotional neutrality developed 
  •  Why relationships feel draining even when you “love” people 
  •  How stress transfers from relationships into your body 

 Tool: 
 You learn how to stay regulated in interactions without disappearing.  

Outcome: 
Less resentment. Less shutdown. Less recovery time after social contact.

Week 5: Ending Old Patterns

Interrupting Stress Spirals in Real Time 


Purpose: 

To stop anxiety, emotional eating, and stress responses while they’re happening. 

 

You’ll learn:  

  • The exact loop that drives stress spirals
  • Why will power fails under nervous system stress  
  • How to intervene early  


Tool:  

A step-by-step method to interrupt anxiety, shutdown, or coping behaviors.  


Outcome: 

Symptoms lose intensity and duration.

Week 6: Making Space for Something New

Expanding Capacity Without Sabotage  


Purpose: 

To help your nervous system tolerate good things without fear. 


 You’ll learn: 

  •  Why desire, rest, or success can feel unsafe 
  •  How survival mode creates guilt around wanting 
  •  Why change often triggers regression 

 

Tool: 

 You learn how to allow ease, pleasure, and forward movement safely.  


Outcome: 

More energy, more consistency, less self-sabotage.

Week 7:
Living in Abundance and Freedom

Embodied Self-Trust and Expression   


Purpose: 

To anchor regulation into identity, not effort. 


 You’ll learn: 

  •  How to live without bracing for collapse
  • How to express needs without guilt 
  •  How to trust yourself under pressure 


 Tool: 

You practice living from regulation instead of restraint. 


 Outcome: 

You feel like yourself again — grounded, responsive, present.

Week 8: Integration, Troubleshooting & Long-Term Stability

Living Courageously in Real Life 


 Purpose: 

To ensure the work lasts beyond the course. 


 You’ll learn: 

  •  How to troubleshoot stress when life intensifies 
  •  How to adapt the tools to your real circumstances 
  •  How to prevent slipping back into survival mode 


 Tool: 

Personal Nervous System Regulation Plan 


 Outcome: 

You leave knowing exactly how to manage stress, hormones, relationships, and body cues going forward.

Janice Holland is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, Certified Trauma Model Therapist, and the creator of The Courageous Living Framework. 

With over 15 years of experience helping women untangle from trauma, perfectionism, and people-pleasing, Janice blends deep clinical expertise with practical, soul-centered strategies that create real change. She has trained therapists and coaches around the world and supported hundreds of women in reclaiming their voice, their energy, and their lives. 

Her work is rooted in the belief that healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken—it’s about remembering who you really are.
